Image Slicer
Prototype #1
Basic Data
Manufacturer | H.Kaufmann Präzisionsoptik (D) |
Date | September 1997 |
Material | Quartz glass (Homosil) |
Wavefront (transmission) | max lambda/10 |
Angle deviations | max 3 arcmin |
Thickness slicer plate | 209+/-0.5 um |
Total wedge angle | 2 arcmin |
Wavefront aberrations
The interferogram (double pass Michelson)
gives a wavefront aberations (transmission)
less lambda/10 @ 633 nm.

Efficiency
The efficiency was measured between the unsliced (top) and the
sliced (bottom) images and therefore is a purely "geometrical"
efficiency. For both beams an efficiency of about 95% was measured
in the V and the Gunn Z filters.
For the total efficiency, the internal transmission and the surface
reflections have to be considered. With the used mulitlayer coating
a total efficiency of 90% is reached (tbc).
