Title | Why cosmological dark matter structures look the way they do |
Abstract |
In this talk I will first present an overview of the observational evidence for dark matter. I will then describe what the largest cosmological dark matter structures look like, according to numerical simulations, observations, and theory. I will focus on the much discussed "density profiles", and the rather counter-intuitive "temperature-anisotropy" of the dark matter, which has only just been observed. The observation of this "temperature-anisotropy" demonstrates that dark matter behaves fundamentally different from normal baryonic particles. |
